Day 01 - Arrive Chennai
Assistance on arrival at Chennai airport followed by pick up are transferred to the hotel. The Gateway to South India, Chennai, located along the Coromandel Coast initially grew around the British settlement of Fort St. George and is today India's fourth largest metropolis. Chennai has retained its traditional Tamil roots while acquiring a modern and cosmopolitan character.Afternoon a half-day tour of Chennai city. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 - Chennai
After breakfast embark on a full day excursion to Tirupati. Tirupati is known as the abode of the Hindu god Venkateshvara (also spelt as 'Venkatesvara'), "Lord of Seven Hills". About 10-km northwest of Tirupati, at an elevation of 750m, is the sacred hill of Tirumala, which was considered very holy. One of the most important pilgrimage centers in India, the temple draws millions of pilgrims and is believed to be the busiest pilgrimage centre in the world.After viist return back to the hotel. Day 03 - Chennai - MamallapuramDistance: 58 Kms
After breakfast drive to Mamallapuram en route visiting Kanchipuram. Mahabalipuram is a blessed combination of history, good beaches and hassle-free tourism. It is known for its group of pleasing rathas and the dramatically carved relief depicting Arjuna's Penance. The magnificent Shore Temple, built by king Rajasimha in the 7th century, is an outstanding temple that has the shrines of both Shiva and Vishnu. The Varaha Cave another major attraction which is one of the many rock-cut caves in Mahabalipuram. The Krishna Mandapam, one of the most visited places, has a bas-relief of Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan hill on his fingertips. Drive on and check into your hotel/beach resort. Later tour the temples of Mamallapuram. Overnight at the hotel/beach resort.
Day 04 - Mamallapuram - ChidambaramDistance 205 Kms
In the morning drive to Chidambaram and check into your hotel.Chidambaram greets us with a beautiful temple, dedicated to Lord Nataraja - God Siva, in the form of a cosmic Dancer. This is one of the few temples where Siva and Vishnu are enshrined under one roof. Dedicated to Lord Nataraja, this ancient temple of the Cholas is unique not only it is devoted solely to the art of Bharatanatyam, but also it is one of the rare temples where Shiva is represented by an idol rather than the customary Lingam. Spread over an area of 40 acres with a gopuram on each side, the temple is distinguished by five sabhas or courts. Later visit the famous Nataraja Temple. Rest of the day is at leisure. Day 05 - Chidambaram - TrichyDistance: 173 Kms
In the morning drive to Trichy and check into your hotel. Tiruchirappalli, situated on the banks of the river Cauvery is the fourth largest city in Tamil Nadu. It was a citadel of the early Cholas which later fell to the Pallavas. Trichy is a fine blend of tradition and modernity built around the Rock Fort.Later a half-day tour of Trichy City. Day 06 - Trichy
In the morning is a full day excursion to Thanjavur. Thanjavur wasn't the only place to receive Chola Patronage. Within easy reach of Thanjavur are numerous enormous Chola Temples- mainly Thiruvaiyaru, Dharasuram near Kumbakonam and Gangaikonda Cholapuram. The Cholas also had a hand in building the enormous temple complex at Sri Rangam near Tiruchirapalli- Probably India's largest. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 07 - Trichy - MaduraiDistance: 128 Kms
In the morning drive to Madurai and check into your hotel. Madurai is famous for its temples.The Aappudaiyaar Koyil Tevara Stalam and the Koodalazhagar Divya Desam are the most important temples one should rarely miss to go. In the vicinity of Madurai is Tirupparamkunram, one of the 6 padai veedu shrines of Murugan (glorified in Madurai Sangam Nakeerar’s Tirumurugaatruppadai). Also in the vicinity of Madurai is Alagar Koyil, one of the prominent Divya Desam shrines of the Sri Vaishnavite faith. Later a half-day tour of Madurai city. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 08 - Madurai
After breakfast morning full day excursion to Rameswaram. Rameshwaram is an island situated in the gulf of manner at the very tip of the Indian peninsula. A very important pilgrim centre of the Indians. Rameshwaram is the place from where Lord Rama, built a bridge across the sea to rescue his consort Sita, from her abductor, Ravana. This is also the place where Rama worshipped Lord Shiva to cleanse away the sin of killing Ravana.Overnight at the hotel.
Day 09 - Madurai - Kanya Kumari Distance: 235 Kms
In the morning drive to Kanya Kumari Located in the southernmost point of the Indian mainland, it is a magnificent place of natural beauty where you can see the deep blue waters of the ocean meeting the horizon. Upon arrival check into your hotel. Later a half-day tour of this holy town. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 - Kanya Kumari - TrivandrumDistance: 85 Kms
In the morning drive to Trivandrum and check into your hotel/beach resort. Afternoon is a half-day tour of Trivandrum city where you will visit the Padmanabhapuram Temple which is 45 km and is a large mansion of the Travancore Kings. It is known for its fascinating natural splendor. Tiruchendur (85 km) is the site of a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Subramanya. The temple located here on the shore of the Bay of Bengal is one of the six abodes of Lord Subramanya. The location of the temple draws a perennial stream of devotees. The temple overlooking the singing sea is an inspiring sight. Overnight at the hotel/beach resort.
Day 11 - Trivandrum Departure
After breakfast you will be provided departure transfer to the Trivandrum airport to connect the flight for onwards journey.
