Charming South India Tour

Day 1: Bangalore Arrival

Upon arrival in Bangalore, meet our representative and drive towards Mysore. En route, visit the famous Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace at Srirangapatna.

Upon reaching Mysore, proceed for a sightseeing tour that includes the magnificent Mysore Palace, built in 1912 in the Indo-Saracenic style. This grand palace exudes unmatched elegance and architectural brilliance. Next, visit the Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery, housed within the Jaganmohan Palace, which features an exquisite collection of paintings dating back to 1875.

Continue your journey to the Bull Temple, home to a 4.8-metre monolithic Nandi statue, located midway on the route to Chamundi Hill. Thereafter, visit the famous Chamundi Hill Temple, situated at an altitude of 1,062 metres. In the evening, visit the beautiful Brindavan Gardens.

Day 2: Mysore – Ooty

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Ooty, also known as the "Queen of the Nilgiris." Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and later proceed for sightseeing.

Visit the famous Government Botanical Garden, spread across 22 hectares and home to more than 650 species of flowers and trees, making it a paradise for horticulture enthusiasts. One of the major attractions is a fossilised tree believed to be over 20 million years old.

Next, visit Doddabetta Peak, situated at an altitude of 8,606 feet, making it the highest point in the Nilgiri Hills. The panoramic views from the summit are truly breathtaking.

Continue to the Rose Garden, located in the heart of Ooty. It is one of the largest rose gardens in India and houses an extensive collection of rose varieties spread across 10 acres. The Wax Museum nearby is also worth a visit.

End the day at Ooty Lake, a 2.5-kilometre-long lake surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Nilgiris. Enjoy activities such as boating, cycling around the lake, and horse riding.

Day 3: Ooty – Coonoor – Ooty

After breakfast, proceed to Coonoor by the famous Toy Train (tickets subject to availability) and enjoy the scenic journey from Ooty to Coonoor.

Upon arrival in Coonoor, your driver will pick you up from the railway station and take you for local sightseeing. Visit Sims Park, a beautiful botanical garden established in 1874 and home to numerous rare plant species brought from different parts of the world.

Next, visit Lamb's Rock, which offers spectacular views of lush forests, rolling hills, and sprawling tea and coffee plantations, making it an ideal picnic spot.

Continue to Dolphin's Nose, a stunning viewpoint located more than 1,000 feet above sea level. Its unique rock formation resembles a dolphin's nose, from which it derives its name. The drive to this viewpoint is equally scenic and enjoyable.

After sightseeing, drive back to Ooty.

Day 4: Ooty – Kodaikanal

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Kodaikanal, popularly known as the "Princess of Hill Stations" in South India.

The winding roads through lush green landscapes offer spectacular views throughout the journey. Stop at various viewpoints along the way to capture memorable photographs of the beautiful surroundings.

Upon arrival in Kodaikanal, check in to the hotel. The evening is free for relaxation and leisure.

Day 5: Kodaikanal Sightseeing

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Kodaikanal.

Visit Coaker's Walk, a picturesque pedestrian pathway offering breathtaking views of the valleys below.

Continue to the Pine Forest, one of Kodaikanal's most treasured attractions, known for its serene atmosphere and towering pine trees.

Next, visit Guna Caves, formerly known as Devil's Kitchen. These mysterious caves gained popularity after being featured in the Tamil movie Guna.

Proceed to Pillar Rocks, a set of three massive granite pillars standing approximately 122 metres high.

Visit Green Valley View, formerly known as Suicide Point, which offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and hills.

Later, explore Bryant Park, a beautifully maintained botanical garden spread across 20.5 acres.

End the day at the famous Kodai Lake, one of the most beautiful man-made lakes in Kodaikanal. Enjoy activities such as boating, cycling around the lake, and horse riding.

Day 6: Kodaikanal – Thekkady/Periyar

After an early breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Periyar (Thekkady). The area derives its name from the Periyar Dam, constructed by the British in 1895.

Periyar is a renowned wildlife reserve and an ideal destination for spotting wildlife such as elephants, bison, deer, and numerous species of birds. The region is characterised by lush tropical landscapes and extensive plantations of tea, coffee, and spices.

Upon arrival in Thekkady, check in to the hotel. Later, enjoy the famous boat ride on Periyar Lake within the National Park, one of the best ways to observe wildlife in their natural habitat.

You may spot herds of elephants, bison, wild boars, and a variety of bird species along the lakeshore.

The reserve is also home to various species of monkeys, including the rare lion-tailed macaque. Other wildlife includes otters, porcupines, and freshwater turtles often seen basking on logs. Bird enthusiasts may spot ospreys and cormorants among many other species.

In the evening, enjoy a leisurely walk and explore the local spice markets.

Day 7: Thekkady – Alleppey

After breakfast on the houseboat, disembark at approximately 9:30 AM and drive to Cochin, the vibrant commercial capital of Kerala.

Upon arrival, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Cochin, covering the Jewish Synagogue located in the historic Jew Town, the Dutch Palace, the bustling Spice Market, St. Francis Church (the oldest European church in India), and the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets.

Later, enjoy free time for shopping at Lulu Mall, one of Asia's largest shopping malls.
