Chalaal - Kasol - Grahan Trek Tour

Day 01: Walk Through Katagla and Chalal

Reach our campsite, beautifully nestled in the scenic Parvati Valley. Settle in and relax for a while before heading out to explore the offbeat villages of Katagla and Chalal.

The walk through the woods from our campsite will surely remind you of the poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening." Yes, you imagined it right—it is that enchanting.

Day 02: Trek to Grahan Village

Imagine yourself holding a cup of tea amidst snow-clad mountains, filled with excitement to explore the hidden gem known as Grahan Village.

Today is the day to put your trekking skills to the test as you embark on the trail to Grahan Village, the base camp of the famous Sar Pass Trek. The trek begins from Kasol, and it usually takes around 4 to 5 hours to cover the 9-km distance. The trail starts just before the bridge near the Kasol Central Bus Stand.

The route is marked with red arrows throughout, but there is still a fair chance that you may lose yourself in the beauty of the surroundings. During the hike, you will pass through dense forests filled with the sounds of birds chirping and bees buzzing. One constant companion throughout the journey is the Parvati River.

It is only during the last 150 metres of the trek that you begin to see the houses of Grahan Village, and the view is truly mesmerising. Most of the houses are traditionally built, and some are nearly 200–250 years old.

Spend time exploring the village and interacting with the friendly local children who can be found playing in every corner of the village. In the evening, enjoy a hot meal around a warm bonfire while soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and the sound of silence.

Day 03: Return to Kasol | Departure

Wake up to a beautiful sunrise and enjoy breakfast amidst the serene mountain surroundings. Later, trek back to Kasol and prepare for your onward journey.

Accommodation in dome tents on Day 1 and a wooden house in Grahan Village on Day 2.

Airfare, bus fare, or railway fare to Kasol. However, assistance can be provided for ticket bookings.

Any sports or adventure activities not mentioned in the inclusions.

Personal expenses such as phone calls, laundry, etc.

Any item not mentioned under "Inclusions."

Additional food and beverages apart from those specified.

Porters for carrying personal luggage.

Backpacks and personal trekking equipment.

Expenses arising due to emergencies, evacuation, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

How to Reach

By Road

Kasol is well connected to Delhi by road. Take an overnight Volvo bus from Delhi to Bhuntar (approximately 490 kms) and then hire a local taxi or take a local bus to Kasol (approximately 30 kms or 50 minutes).

The total journey takes around 11–12 hours (approximately 520 kms). Most buses travelling from Delhi to Manali or Kullu pass through Bhuntar, so inform the conductor in advance to drop you there.

Tip: Since Delhi to Bhuntar is a long journey, most private Volvo buses depart between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. The last government bus leaves at approximately 8:30 PM from ISBT Kashmere Gate.

Volvo bus fares generally range between ₹1,000 and ₹1,400 per person per sector from Delhi to Bhuntar and vice versa.

For the return journey, buses from Bhuntar to Delhi generally depart between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

Your arrival in Delhi may be between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM the next day. It is advisable to plan your onward travel after noon to accommodate possible delays.

By Train

The nearest major railway stations are:

Ambala (approximately 350 kms)

Chandigarh (approximately 310 kms)

Tip: Regular Volvo buses and state transport buses operate from Chandigarh to Bhuntar during the evening.

Volvo bus fares generally range from ₹700 to ₹1,000 per person per sector between Chandigarh and Manali.

All buses from Chandigarh and Delhi to Manali/Kullu pass through Bhuntar. From Bhuntar, local taxis and buses are available to Kasol (approximately 30 kms or 50 minutes).

By Air

Take a flight from Delhi to Bhuntar Airport (Kullu Airport), the nearest airport to Kasol, located approximately 32 kms away.

From Bhuntar Airport, taxis are readily available to Kasol and generally cost between ₹700 and ₹1,000.

Bhuntar Airport is connected to Delhi by regular flights. Airlines operating on this route may vary depending on current schedules and availability.
