Varanasi and Sarnath Sightseeing Tour

Your tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel, airport, or railway station, as per your travel itinerary. You will then drive to Sarnath, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world. Here, you will visit the Buddhist temples, Sarnath Archaeological Museum, Chaukhandi Stupa, Dhamek Stupa, and other significant monuments.

Sarnath is the sacred place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Over the centuries, Emperor Ashoka and several other rulers built numerous monasteries, stupas, temples, and monuments, many of which remain important historical and religious attractions today. The Sarnath Archaeological Museum houses an impressive collection of ancient artifacts, sculptures, terracotta objects, and archaeological treasures, including the famous Ashoka Lion Capital, India's National Emblem.

By late morning, return to Varanasi and continue your sightseeing tour of the city's renowned temples. Visit the Birla Temple (New Vishwanath Temple), Manas Mandir, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Bharat Mata Temple, Annapurna Temple, and Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple. If time permits, you may also visit the revered Kal Bhairav Temple.

Lunch will be served en route. Please note that many temples have specific rules regarding dress code, photography, mobile phones, and entry procedures. Visitors are advised to follow all temple guidelines to ensure a smooth and respectful visit.

In the evening, enjoy a memorable boat ride on the sacred River Ganga, passing by the famous ghats of Varanasi, including Manikarnika Ghat, Harishchandra Ghat, and several others. Each ghat has its own religious and cultural significance. As you pass Manikarnika Ghat, you may witness the traditional Hindu cremation rituals, which have been performed here for centuries. Photography should only be undertaken respectfully and in accordance with local customs and regulations.

At sunset, arrive at Dashashwamedh Ghat to witness the spectacular Ganga Aarti, one of Varanasi's most iconic spiritual experiences. This elaborate ritual is performed every evening by priests using large oil lamps, accompanied by Vedic chants, bells, and devotional music to honor the sacred River Ganga.

If you prefer, you may watch the Ganga Aarti from a boat on the river, offering an excellent panoramic view of the ceremony while avoiding the large crowds gathered on the ghat.

After the Aarti, you will be transferred back to your hotel or dropped off at the airport or railway station, according to your travel schedule.
