Raja's Seat

Raja's Seat, located in the town of Madikeri, is one of Coorg's most popular tourist attractions. It is believed that the kings of Kodagu would sit here with their queens to enjoy the spectacular sunsets and panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Considered one of the most scenic viewpoints in South India, Raja's Seat offers breathtaking views of lush green valleys, mist-covered mountains, and beautifully landscaped gardens. Omkareshwara Temple

The Omkareshwara Temple was built in 1820 by King Lingarajendra II. The temple is unique for its fascinating blend of Islamic (Muhammadan) and Gothic architectural styles, featuring a central dome and four corner towers. According to local legend, the king unjustly killed a pious Brahmin, whose spirit began haunting him. Following the advice of his Dewan, Ponnappa, the king constructed the temple to seek forgiveness and appease the Brahmin's spirit. Today, the temple is an important religious site and a popular attraction in Madikeri.

Talacauvery & Bhagamandala

Talacauvery is the sacred source of the River Cauvery, one of South India's most important rivers. Located about 44 km from Madikeri on the slopes of Brahmagiri Hills, Talacauvery is a renowned pilgrimage destination and a place of exceptional natural beauty.

Every year, on an auspicious day during the Tula Sankramana festival, devotees believe that water miraculously springs from a small sacred pond, symbolizing the origin of the river. Nearby is Bhagamandala, a holy pilgrimage center where the rivers Cauvery, Kannike, and the mythical Sujyothi are believed to converge. The serene surroundings and spiritual significance make both destinations must-visit attractions in Coorg.

Bylekuppe

Bylekuppe, located near Kushalnagar, is one of the largest Tibetan settlements in South India. Established in the 1960s, it has become an important center for Tibetan culture, religion, and education.

The settlement is home to several beautiful monasteries, including the renowned Namdroling Monastery (Golden Temple), Sera Jey Monastery, and Sera Mey Monastery. Visitors can admire magnificent Buddhist architecture, colorful murals, giant golden Buddha statues, and peaceful prayer halls while experiencing the rich traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.
